About RMCC : Montane Outreach Program

RMCC’s commitment is to bring children from different communities together using choral music as the tool. One of the ways this is accomplished is through the Choir's Outreach Program. Once a week, RMCC conductors bring the Choir's world-class music education program to schools where music programs have been reduced or eliminated and where there is a high proportion of children who receive free and reduced-price lunch. The singers in RMCC's Outreach Programs study the same music and curriculum as those at the Choir's central rehearsal site at Christ Church United Methodist and Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences. RMCC strives to not only bring music education to underserved populations, but to also use music as a bridge between communities. Singers from RMCC's Outreach Programs and the central rehearsal site come together at least once a semester for a day of rehearsal and team-building activities, and all RMCC singers perform together at the Choir's formal Winter and Spring concerts. Currently, RMCC is operating programs at Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences (451 Clermont), Pioneer Charter School (3230 E. 38th Ave.), The Odyssey School (8750 E. 28th Ave.), Montclair Elementary (1151 Newport St.), and First Avenue Presbyterian Church (120 W. 1st Ave.). For information on how you can help make a Montane Outreach Program possible, please contact the choir office. |
